OUR NEWEST PROGRAMLNPB People, helping people, helping paws, low cost Veterinarian Clinic, which falls under the umbrella of Leave No Paws Behind Inc, ( EIN 45-2717681 ) a nonprofit benefit charitable organization dedicated to rescuing and helping senior and special medical needs animals in high kill So Ca shelters, is UNDERWAY!

Over the last 8 years, LNPB has found an increasing and alarmingly large number of senior pets being surrendered into the shelter systems where they are abandoned, sick, frightened and left to die. Many of the animals we rescue are at the end stage of their life and sadly in the worst possible physical condition imaginable. LNPB steps up to rescue these animals, providing medical care and surprisingly, ninety five percent of the time, with basic medical care and treatment, these animals can go on to live in loving homes for several months and often years. We believe that the high cost of veterinary care today in the Los Angeles, Ca area is one of the biggest reasons that families, who truly love their animals, sadly feel they have no other options other than to surrender their pets. In speaking with many owner surrenders LNPB has learned that most cannot even afford to have their terminally ill pets humanely euthanized due to the high cost in today’s society.

Average costs for basic veterinary medical services in the Los Angeles, Ca area continue to rise, and while some pet humans can easily afford these charges, those that are on a limited income, retired, on disability, out of work or living at poverty level sadly have nowhere to turn to help their beloved pets therefore being forced to surrender them to the shelter systems, LNPB wants to change that by keeping our senior and special medical needs animals in their homes with their loving families and out of the shelters.

LNPB is becoming part of the solution to the ever-growing problem of veterinary costs by developing a new Low cost Veterinary Medical Clinic in an effort to help pets stay in their homes and out of the shelters. The vet clinic will be located in West Covina, CA, easily accessible by many popular freeways. An average vet visit consisting of: exam, vaccines, heart worm test, fecal test, blood work, ear cleaning and eye staining, can cost anywhere from $540.00 to $660.00 in Los Angeles. If your pet needs x-rays or a dental cleaning (not including extractions) you can add (on average) an additional $753.00. The final loving selfless act of having to say good bye to your beloved pet in the vets office averages $125.00-$350.00, at home euthanasia averages $295.00- $400.00. We know of no veterinary practice in the LA area that takes payments over time and all practices want their payment in full at time of treatment. To a family or individual who is on a fixed income, low income and/or budget and has to choose between rent/food or vet care, the choice for them is inevitable and so heart breaking. It becomes very clear that many of the animals we rescue have been neglected, and though we believe they have been loved, sadly their beloved humans felt they had no other options but to surrender them. We see it every day, the tears, the heart ache, the children holding on to their pets and not wanting to let go, the pets looking back as they are taken away and we tell ourselves “there has to be a better way."

The LNPB LOW COST CLINIC will be open to the General Public.
The LNPB Clinic will focus on wellness, basic medical care, affordable dental care, spay/neuter, and on-going maintenance medical care for everyone. Vaccinations and microchips will all be offered at a low, affordable cost. LNPB will continue, with fosters in place,  to rescue seniors and special medical needs animals from the shelters and all basic medical needs/tests will be rendered at our Clinic. Those that are in need of more serious medical care/major life saving surgeries will be moved to our current vets and hospital boarding if needed as the LNPB Clinic does not provide overnight boarding at this time.
